5. Relaxed Mornings
Now, we still start school by 8:00 am. But they get to sleep their natural sleep cycle, and so do I. We go to bed earlier and get up a little later. We are all MUCH happier and more relaxed. We get morning snuggle time and enjoy sunrises and even morning reading time!
4. More Play Time
3. A Messier House...
Story time. Have you ever had a melt-down? Like a 2 year old, temper tantrum throwing stomping, screaming melt-down? Mine came recently -NOT a proud moment for me. My melt-down came when my newly mopped floor and freshly vacuumed rug had smud tracked completely across it. (not a typo, that is a cross between mud and sh**. Smud is very common when you live on a ranch with livestock) Not only that, but then I walk into this....
2. A surprise child
My surprise child is my younger boy. My sweet little Tater-Tot, who has always been happy, laid back, easy going, quiet and hardly ever needs discipline. Who knew that HIS personality traits would drive me mad when we moved school to home? He really could care less if he gets his school work done at all, let alone in a timely manner. There have been several nights where he would still be "working" at 6:00 pm or later. I put working in quotes because that often involves staring at the wall, fixing his pencil, and in general, doing anything BUT his schoolwork. It was really driving me insane! But as life often does, it taught me a lesson. I realize now that this was a learning opportunity for both of us. I just needed to discover him for who he is and what drives and motivates him Now we are both happier and more relaxed because of it. He has taught me to be a little more relaxed, and in turn, he is learning time management.
