Vision Boards: If you are in business, if you are a dreamer, if you are goal-oriented, and unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen something about or been told about vision boards...
When you think of the word "commit" what comes to mind?
Don't give up
You decide to do something, and do it right
You are going to GET IT DONE!
These are all phrases that come to mind when I think of the word. Commitment to a task gives you credibility, integrity and builds trust. So how can we, in this crazy busy life we lead, not only commit but also follow something through to completion?
There's a planner for that!
You know by now that I am a paper planner type of girl. So when the Commit 30 planner popped up in my Facebook news feed, I knew I had to check it out.
The Commit 30 Planner is perfect for goal-driven, focused people; OR for people who want to be goal-driven and focused.
From their website:
"Commit30 was started to give you the tools and motivation to achieve those goals and dreams that may have been put on the back burner. The Commit30 2017 Day Planner is the first product we are launching for the Commit30 movement. We will be launching a variety of other products and tools over the next several months to help you accomplish your goals and dreams by taking those small steps that lead to big changes, 30 days at a time. It only takes 30 days to change your life!"
What I love...
I love motivational quotes! Sometimes it is the simplest reminder to just get in gear.
*Monthly Focus Goal with Action Steps*
I have heard it said that "A goal without action is just a wish". How true that is! We can dream of a vacation, but if we don't choose a destination, plan the trip and save money to go, we are simply dreaming. I love how the commit 30 planner guides you to focus on ONE goal for 30 days.
Can you think of 12 big goals for the year? I sure can. But it can get overwhelming when you try to think about them all at once. By focusing on one thing for 30 days, you seriously
GET STUFF DONE.
This planner has a nice, durable cover, thick pages and is a great size for portability. ( 5.75″ x 8.125” x .75″)
There are blank "notes" pages in the back with plenty of room to write extras.
You can also order fun little add-ons like stickers and adhesive tabs.
What would I change?
A place to hold a pen, and a pocket for small papers would be nice. But those are pretty minor, and I got along with this planner just fine without those features.
How is it working?
I wanted to give this planner a couple of months to see if it would really fit into my life and help drive my goals. Guess what? It's working!
I focused January on taxes. Not because I like to do them, but because I hate it! So to write that down as a goal, and work on my action steps a little each day, I had it whipped, and it was so nice to get it done - early!
February was my budgeting month. We have some big dreams for ourselves and big plans for charitable giving. We can only do that my making a clear and tight budget. So I wrapped up February with a plan in place and a feeling of freedom in my heart.
Ok - now for March... First, I needed to commit to finishing this blog post! It was great to have my goals in the same place as my calendar. I decided that for the rest of the year, I will be using this planner solely for my doTERRA business. March is all about setting a new vision and structure for this crazy little oil-hobby-turned-business I am so passionate about. The Commit30 Planner will be perfect for that!

Gardening in Zone 3...
When you have a love of gardening and you live in a colder climate, spring fever tends to hit hard! I look around social media and see my friends around the country putting up pea trellises, starting their outdoor cool crops and digging in the dirt. I long to feel the dirt on my bare feet and smell the soil as I start digging around in my garden.
But then I look outside. We still have a thick blanket of snow covering everything in sight and I sigh...
"HURRY up Spring"!!!!
What is a cold weather gardener to do?
Here are 5 things you can do when you just can't wait to get in your garden!
1. Start your seedlings:
You can start seeds indoors with a simple set-up. No need for fancy grow stands and expensive lights. This year, I am starting all my herbs, tomatoes and peppers in plastic storage totes. As they sprout, I will add an under-the-counter fluorescent light to each box. I found these lights for a bargain price, and I am excited to see how my tiny greenhouses will work!
2. Order Seeds:
There is just something about perusing through your seed catalogs. I am almost giddy when they start to arrive in the mail. As I am looking at the pictures, I can smell summer! Every year, I try to add at least one perennial fruit bearer or herb to my garden. Someday, I want my grandchildren to thank me for that asparagus on the ditch bank or the raspberry bush in the front yard.
This year: Elderberries and Nanking Cherries will make their debut in my garden!
3. Plan your garden:
I won't plant until June. But if there is one advantage to that, I have PLENTY of time to plan! I can research best plant companions and have time to re-arrange and dream up all kinds of crazy ideas to try.
Are you a reader? Pinterest is likely to be the death of me... I have soooo many ideas and soooo little time! I have added a small hugelkulture bed to my back yard, and last fall, my garden was covered in a thick layer of leaf and hay mulch as I am looking forward to years of no-till gardening. Some ideas are a flop, but that's OK. It's all part of the adventure!

This week, I am teaming up with my good friend Elizabeth over at The Rural Sisterhood, for an awesome give-away! (This content was originally posted on her website... make sure to check it out, and find The Rural Sisterhood on Facebook too!)
I am so excited to share the Daily Action Planner with you! This planner is so cool. It's a very short planner at just 30 days, but with the shorter time frame it is more likely to help you stick to working toward your goals and much easier to see progress as well!
As you know I really encourage folks to set goals, break them down and set due dates. But sometimes it's hard to figure out exactly how to do that. This planner takes out the guess work and teaches you to create goals and break them down into meaningful steps. You will find yourself reaching those goals while completing your day to day activities!

Want More Information Before Choosing a Planner? I don’t know about you, but when I started looking for a planner I searched Pinterest, talked to friends, searched Amazon, creeped Facebook groups, and miraculously had a chance to browse Michael’s planner aisle! The one thing I wished I could have had was the ability to compare several planners side by side in person! While that isn’t always possible, I was able to create a spreadsheet that compares different details of planners including size, weight, binding type, monthly/weekly layouts, extras, etc.!
Planners included in this comparison are: Heart of The Farm Planner, The Happy Planner, Passion Planner, The Intentional Planner and the Daily Action Planner. I hope to review other planners as well. As that occurs, I will update this comparison spreadsheet and gladly send you an update!
Just click below and I will send you this Side By Side Comparison spreadsheet, straight to your email! I promise not to sell or spam your email. I hate that too.

Searching for the Perfect Planner...
I have to admit, I am a bit old fashioned when it comes to planners. I would rather carry a paper and pen in hand, than type it into my phone. Which is odd, because I use my phone for nearly everything, except staying organized.
That said, organization is a challenge for me. Not because it is necessarily a weakness, it is just simply - we have a LOT going on every day. You know you know what I am talking about?!?!
Who am I?
My name is Kacey. I live and work on a family owned and operated cattle ranch in Colorado. Beyond that, I am a home-schooling, Jesus loving, essential oiling, junk-lovin' mother of two and a down-to-earth, imperfect ranch wife!
